A Slow September Weekend in Ibiza | What I Wore & Did

This weekend was beautifully calm. September in Ibiza feels like the island’s had a bit of a refresh, like the rainstorm the other day genuinely cleansed the island. It’s quieter now the school holidays have finished, and although there are still tourists around, it feels like a different kind of traveller altogether. Less club heavy, more appreciating the simple things.
Morning: Coffee at Es Pins
Saturday started with a slow morning coffee at one of our favourite spots, Es Pins. It’s both a coffee shop by day and a full restaurant by night, and we absolutely love it. It’s not exactly the best setting on the island I must admit though, you’re literally looking out at the road and a fairly busy roundabout, but there’s something about the place that makes it feel special. The people, the food, it has that certain something that’s hard to define. Plus, unlike a lot of places in Ibiza, you can actually buy a reasonably priced and delicious sandwich here for under 10 euros!

I’m actually off the bread at the minute, tummy issues are driving me potty, but Walter ate for the two of us with one stacked pulled pork bocadillo!
Outfit wise, I wore a couple of favourite pieces I’d never actually worn together before, but I think it worked. One very pretty white blouse with those delicate sprinkles of blue embroidery. I fell in love with this blouse initially because of the sleeves, but actually the shape overall is even more wearable than I first thought.

Come milder days, I’ll be wearing it with every style of jeans I own, but this day it was an old favourite midi skirt that got the pairing. I picked this one up last year and, like the blouse, it’s been such a bestseller it’s still in stock. The embroidery is beautiful again, but with this piece I think my favourite element is the waist. Horizontally pleated over the hip, it can hide a multitude of sins and always feels flattering to wear.

I talk a lot about the perfect tailored trousers, where the pleat starts from the hip bone for the perfect drape. It’s a similar theory with skirts. If the pleats start right from the top, they’ll inevitably balloon out over the hips, a hard look for most of us to pull off. But pleats that lie flat across the tummy before gathering lower down, are a lot more flattering for most women’s body shapes. And now I’m in my 40s, I’ve felt the need for these clever styling tricks even more. I haven’t put on weight as such, but my shape has changed. Like a lot of women navigating style over 40, I now carry more weight around my tummy. My thighs were always my “problem” area, so it feels strange that it’s shifted. I try not to get too hung up about it, but I do more ab exercises than ever before to keep it in check, and I’ve learned to lean on those handy styling tricks to minimise my fluctuating pouch!
Outfit One
And thinking of the weather turning, I’ve been researching a lot about what I’ll actually reach for once it starts to get cold and indeed is already cold for many of you. So I’ve put together my full guide to the Autumn fashion trends I’d genuinely invest in this year, from checks to funnel necks, with my favourite pieces to shop for each one.
Midday: Cala Nova Beach
Then it was off to one of our favourite beaches, Cala Nova, on the east of the island. I say favourite beach, I actually have several favourites for different things. But this one is beautiful for a little chill and often has bigger waves for Walter to practise his surfing, so it ticks a lot of boxes.

Talking about that that quieter September mood in Ibiza, you can really notice the difference here now. There’s actually space to sit down! Back in mid August that was hard, and it wasn’t a great feeling being crammed in like sardines. So I set myself up simply with a towel and a parasol in the little cove of the beach, did a bit of people watching, and let Walter surf with his mates to his heart’s content.
Ibiza isn’t exactly known for its surfing, it doesn’t really have the waves for it, which we didn’t realise before peaking way too soon and buying him a beginner surfboard and sending him out to sea. But now the weather has turned a little, the waves have finally started to arrive, and he’s loving giving it a go with all his friends in tow. It’s a lovely feeling actually, watching him out at sea with a big group of boys, as far away from their X-boxes as you could get, just enjoying some simple pleasures. And he loves it so much he’d still be out there now if I let him!

Afternoon: Stoop Café
After a few hours watching him stand on the surfboard, fall, repeat, and squeal with joy through the whole charade, and plenty of happy people watching on my part, I eventually managed to persuade him to leave, and we headed to a new coffee spot that’s just opened, called Stoop. It’s in Cala Pada, one of my favourite areas in Santa Eulalia for its super chilled, slightly hippyish, surfer vibes. Stoop is an easy one to find, the walls outside are painted a brilliant, bright shade of pink. Not sure I could ever convince David, but how good would our house here look painted like that! Taxis would always find us for once!

Anyway, it’s a spot I’ve been meaning to try, so we happily went along to see what we thought. Typically, Walter had to order the “special” an 8 euro smoothie containing banana, cookies, milk and matcha. I was sceptical, but it was actually one of the most delicious smoothies I’ve tasted on the island, coming in second only to the Red Passion smoothie we love at PanKing in Ibiza town. Smoothies aside, Stoop is another lovely setting for a lazy coffee or an ice cream after the beach, and one I’d recommend you add to your list.

Though we went to Cala Nova that day, which is just up the road, Cala Pada is another one of our faves. There aren’t really any waves there, just gentle lapping of the sea on the shoreline, but it has that low key vibe we love so much. It’s also less known than some of the other beaches on the island, so it’s never really swamped, even at the height of Summer. There’s a diving centre there we’re yet to try, and a couple of restaurants to eat by the sea if you fancy it. Though I must admit, with Es Pins just up the road, I’d probably pop there for lunch instead.
So, a little insight into our weekend vibes on this beautiful island, and very much enjoying these slower, quieter days of September in Ibiza. I’ve tied it all together in one little reel, which I hope shares the spirit of all these recommendations. I actually love making these types of reels. Just sharing snippets of our weekend and hopefully capturing the feeling this magical little island has on me. No hooks, no fast paced text on screen to please an algorithm, just me and my boy sharing some of our favourites spots, which hopefully makes you smile along the way.
