5 Best New-In Sézane Knitwear Pieces Ready For Cosy Season

There are certain brands I have mentally filed away as a dead cert for specific pieces, H&M and M&S for affordable, brilliant-fitting lingerie, Cos for the perfect heavyweight T-shirt, Arket for a crisp cotton poplin shirt that always washes as good as new. And then there’s the Parisian favourite, Sézane, for knitwear.
One of the very first pieces I ever bought from Sézane was the Gaspard cardigan, and I liked it so much I went on to buy it in four more shades. It still looks as good today as it did the day I bought it 🙂
I remember popping into one of their Paris stores on a trip over Christmas a few years ago, just as they’d released a new knitwear collection. After queuing for what felt like an age to even get through the door, I found the knitwear shelves absolutely mobbed with Sézane devotees. Parisian women know their pieces never stay on the shelf for long, and they were there in their droves, practically climbing over me to get to the best ones. It was fun to witness, and rather wonderful to see how a small independent brand had grown to such cult status among French women and, not long after, with the rest of us too.
Since then we’ve watched Sézane’s stores pop up in London, New York and Madrid, to name just a few. So when they launch a new knitwear collection, you can be sure it’s a date not to be missed.
So here are my top 5 Sézane knitwear picks this season, the new-in jumpers, cardigans and knitted layers I’ve had my eye on, from classic Autumn neutrals to a bolder statement colour. If you’re after the best Sézane knitwear to add to basket this year, these are the pieces worth knowing about.

I featured this baby alpaca sweater in the chocolate when it first launched about a month ago, so to see it launch today in both an ecru and a light grey cemented my love for the look. This is what Sézane does so well, taking a simple shape like this crew neck jumper and adding a scarf detail that elevates it a notch or ten. I’ve not seen this design with a single other brand before, and I say that cautiously because I’ve no doubt a few will copy it before long. But the original is always the best in my book. The scarf detail is detachable too, so you can style it as you wish, around the collar, off to one side, or wrapped around the waist, which I think works really nicely.

I love how Sézane uses beautiful yarns to create Autumn jackets. Like a lot of their detailing, it’s not something you see very often with brands, well, not with the brands I can afford to shop with regularly anyway, and it’s a welcome piece, particularly for transitional style. It’s often not quite cool enough for a wool coat but it’s definitely chilly enough for another layer, so that’s when I find these knitted jackets really valuable. Made in that gorgeously soft kid mohair blend, it looks and feels decidedly sumptuous, so whether you dress it down with sweatpants or up with tailored trousers, pieces like this always make your outfit look luxurious. Plus that stand up collar option will make a cosy, chic choice to keep out the wind when Winter comes.

And thinking of stand up collars, Sézane has leant fully into the mock and funnel neck trend with this jumper, in typically beautiful French style. Made from 100% merino wool with ribbed detailing, an oversized fit and (thankfully) a slightly longer length, it looks like one of those failsafe jumpers you could wear daily and instantly feel a little more elevated because of it. I really like the styling they’ve done on the shoot, with a belt cinching in the waist, or you could simply style it with jeans and a crisp shirt peeping out underneath. Either way it’s a gorgeous jumper. The hard part, of course, is just choosing a favourite colour! I think I’m going to go for the deep olive 🙂

If I had to pick one favourite Sézane piece, I would have to choose the Chloe. It’s the perfect silk shirt for both day and night, and I can’t even count the many different ways I’ve worn mine. So to see that same Chloe shape reimagined in a cardigan for Autumn 2026, well, I’m sold! You don’t have to ask me twice. I love the navy for everyday practicality, the burgundy perhaps as we lead into Winter, and for something a little different, the vintage washed blue, which I imagine will look great with jeans.

Despite having a bit of an obsession with all these gorgeously soft knits, sometimes my skin just needs some cotton. I do have eczema, mostly just on my hands now, so occasionally need to give the mohair and alpaca a rest and opt for some old faithful cotton instead. That’s when this gorgeous sweater comes into play. It’s my go to, my failsafe everyday jumper, my ride or die wardrobe favourite that I have in both the ecru and the olive, and I’ve worn both on repeat last Winter and Spring. New in today, Sézane launched it in poppy red, and I’m tempted, mainly because I know just how much wear I’ll actually get out of it, so it makes perfect mathematical sense to me! Girl maths possibly, but good maths all the same!
