Ibiza Style Diary: A Week in Pictures. What I’ve Been Wearing, Doing and Seeing

A week in Ibiza told in pictures from a 37-year-old (I got this wrong on Instagram) Mum of 3 — what I wore, where we went, a cheeky wine o’ clock or two, and one very memorable run-in with a snake. Consider this your Ibiza style storyboard. Well, it’s been a busy one I know that much! Guest number 3073 has just left and we’re awaiting 3074 to arrive;) Think of downsizing for next year, mainly for no spare room!

Walking through Ibiza town on a hot summer day

We headed into Ibiza town for a mooch and a little people watch (I could happily do both for hours) It can be a little too boujee in certain places in Ibiza town but I’ve managed to find a few places that are thankfully quite the opposite.

Ibiza town outfit — Sezane striped shorts with a linen vest top and gold sandals

What I wore into town was very much dictated by the weather, it’s been sooooo hot in Spain recently. But I love my new stripey shorts so I opted for those with a simple linen vest top. Gold sandals on my feet and a hint of raffia.

Beanbags at S'Escalinata bar in Ibiza old town

We stopped by a lovely little bar in the old town called S’Escalinata for a drink. If you forget the name just Google ‘Ibiza old town beanbags’ and it comes up! But be warned, the old stairs getting up there are super slippy so it’s worth wearing something with a bit of grip on your feet. Wow, that’s a middle aged shout out right there isn’t it haha! But honestly, I’ve fallen on them before and looked rather silly:/ It’s lovely around this area though so I’d really recommend you visit. It’s bustling yet calm somehow at the same time.

Wine o'clock in striped shorts on a hot Ibiza evening

Then it was time for a little wine o’ clock, be rude not to;) And yes I know, these shorts are right on the line of being too short for me, but it was hot and I needed as little clothes as possible! It’s been a stressful week actually. The house is in chaos, I’m trying to entertain the troops while working full time so wine o’ clock was a welcome treat!

The infamous dead-snake prank at home in Ibiza

Well, that calm was swiftly ruined once home with one of Walter’s pranks I kid you not, I nearly had a heart attack as he swung this snake in my face! I love how being well into my 40s I still thought that pillow was going to save me! In my defence I will say I didn’t know said offending snake was actually dead.

Laughing off Snakegate in Ibiza

I’m never laughing off Snakegate! It felt like it went on for hours:/ Is this a boy thing? I imagine Mums with girls sat quietly plaiting their hair and drawing pretty pictures while I’m there fighting off snakes.

Cinema night in Ibiza to watch The Odyssey

Later that week we went to the cinema to watch The Odyssey. It was incredible, can Mr Nolan do no wrong? Though I kind of wished I’d done some sort of Greek Mythology research in advance, I was very confused for the first half an hour! But worth sitting it out though, all 3 hours of it being utterly brilliant.

Cinema outfit — linen trousers and a detailed tank top by Rosae Paris

I always get freeeezing in a cinema, surely the coldest places on earth? So I wore my linen trousers and a favourite detailed tank top from a brand called Rosae Paris AND packed a jumper just in case. Cine Regio shows English-speaking movies every Tuesday so worth a visit if you ever get a rainy day in Ibiza.

Honestly, the last time I went to the cinema in the UK we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Which I find kind of sad? I don’t want cinema to die, I love going to the movies. Growing up it was that one treat experience my Mum could afford to take us to and I still feel that magic stepping into the cinema like I did all those years ago. So seeing these crowds for the second showing, that was a nice sight to see. An old school cinema with a whole lot of audience, and at only €7.50 a ticket hopefully accessible for everyone.

Shopping the new-in at Massimo Dutti in Ibiza

I popped into Massimo Dutti to see everything that’s new, I’ve always loved that brand. They’ve just got their quality to price ratio spot on.

Trying on the fringed Sandro jacket with striped shorts

And a little try on again of ‘that’ jacket I spotted a while ago in Sandro. It was very spendy so I’d given it a miss but now I’ve spotted it with 40% off it keeps calling my name!

Ibiza date night with a hand fan on a hot-flush evening

Having a hot flush, or was it that it felt like 49 degrees that evening! Either way a beautiful date night for David and me at Finca La Plaza. He’s been away so much recently so it was lovely to just pause for a moment and spend the evening together.

Talking summer fashion trends over 40, styled with new loafers

This week I’ve also been talking Summer Fashion trends, the ones I’m actually wearing! You can see that now on my WATCH page if you so wish:) I also got myself a new, and very comfy pair of loafers.

Outdoor cinema under the stars at Cala Llonga, Ibiza

We watched IF under the stars at Cala Llonga. Love that Club Cinema Paradiso put this on as a free community event. I have a feeling they do it monthly at the beach so worth keeping an eye out for one if you’re coming over.

New ochre top styled oversized with linen trousers

I got myself a new top in this beautiful shade of ochre. I sized up one size in the top as I wanted it to fit slightly oversized. The trousers however do come up a bit big so I would advise sizing down one size if you like them too. I’ve added links to all my outfits below if you need them.

Meeting a Ronaldinho lookalike in Ibiza

Did Walter and his friend actually meet Ronaldinho or is this just a really good impersonator who’s probably been blagging his way around the island! Either way, they were excited:)

And that’s a wrap on our week — more next week, hopefully without any new snake attacks to report;) x
